{"id":104,"date":"2010-07-15T23:00:35","date_gmt":"2010-07-16T06:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=104"},"modified":"2010-07-15T23:05:31","modified_gmt":"2010-07-16T06:05:31","slug":"still-sore-but-able-to-work-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=104","title":{"rendered":"Still Sore but able to work out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My neck was killing me this morning but as the day progressed I could feel it getting better.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the day, I did work out and was able to burn 1100 calories based on the treadmill and elliptical.<\/p>\n<p>So I want to take a look at my cardio burning.\u00a0 I will exclude my weight training and the calories my supplements add to my diet.<\/p>\n<p>The goal: lose 15 lbs in 10 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>In order to achieve this, I will need to burn 750 calories in excess of what I consume a day.<\/p>\n<p>My BMR for my dimensions, sex, and age is about 2200, and I will use this number during these 10 weeks just to make things simple.\u00a0 Assume I consume 2000 calories per day, that will mean I would have a free 200 calories per day.<\/p>\n<p>What kind of workout will I need to do to burn 550 calories?<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, I do 1 hour of what I believe is hatha yoga, that burns about 290 calories<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/www.fitwatch.com\/phpscripts\/viewexercise.php?descr=hatha%20yoga&#038;mets=2.5<\/p>\n<p>Thing is Sunday is considered a rest day, but I think the exercises during the week will make up this shortfall anyway.<\/p>\n<p>I looked it up an I burn about 200 calories per mile I run, and I think I burn 100 calories walking 1 mile. So my 5k run on Mondays does fulfill my 550 calorie count because I run over 3 miles and walking 1 mile so that should be 700 calories.\u00a0 This almost makes up for the Sunday shortfall<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesdays it is supposed to be a 2 lap morning run.\u00a0 That should get me close to 400, but in the afternoon I do run 15 minutes on the treadmill and 17 minutes on the elliptical which burns another 450 calories.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesdays it is simple, 1000 calorie workout.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday, its a 1 mile run and 1 mile walk which is 300 calories.<\/p>\n<p>Friday is normally another similar workout to Tuesday burning 850 calories.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday is a Four Plus, that burns 800 calories.<\/p>\n<p>So to add it up<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sun &#8211; 290<\/li>\n<li>Mon -700<\/li>\n<li>Tue &#8211; 850<\/li>\n<li>Wed &#8211; 1000<\/li>\n<li>Thu &#8211; 300<\/li>\n<li>Fri &#8211; 850<\/li>\n<li>Sat &#8211; 800<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Total: 4790<\/p>\n<p>So I made it cause I have burn 3850, in fact I can eat my BMR and still make it.<\/p>\n<p>Doesn&#8217;t seem so bad.\u00a0 Time to do it.<\/p>\n<p>Weight: 249.2<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My neck was killing me this morning but as the day progressed I could feel it getting better.
