Trying to figure out how to send SMS messages using mmcli and not being root.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I thought I had it and was ready. Here are my short notes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First you have to add the user to the dialout group<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then you have to create a polkit rule<\/p>\n\n\n\n
polkit.addRule(function(action, subject) {
if ((action.id == \"org.freedesktop.ModemManager1.Control\" || action.id == \"org.freedesktop.ModemManager1.Messaging\") &&
subject.isInGroup(\"dialout\")) {
return polkit.Result.YES;
}
});<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\nThen reload polkit and you should be good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
