{"id":14550,"date":"2025-06-22T23:43:31","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T06:43:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=14550"},"modified":"2025-06-22T23:43:31","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T06:43:31","slug":"diy-rack-upgrades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=14550","title":{"rendered":"DIY Rack Upgrades"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It has been over a decade since I originally built this rack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=4685\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=4685\">Original Rack<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I should have thrown this out a couple years later when I got a real rack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there were couple upgrades done that kept the server.  This weekend I spent a large amount of time upgrading the rack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I replaced one of the machines in the rack which was in a Fractal Node 804 case into a rack mount one.  That took a day to move components into that rack mount server.  Another thing I added was a new 8 port HDMI KVM. This is to help keep cables in and UPS from falling out. I can use it for its purpose as a workbench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So this was most of my weekend.  I was tired today, the slept a lot.
