I am going to do a longer form post regarding the build tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I have the base server, here is what I got <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>HP Z440 Workstation 6-Core E5-1650 v4 3.6Ghz with 32GB of RAM and an NVS310<br>Looks like it is populated with 4 x 8GB DDR4 ECC RAM.  So I can reasonably got to 64GB by adding 4 more later, but the goal is to go to 128GB of RAM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the OS I have two transcend 120GB SATA SSD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The HBA is an LSI SAS9305-16e<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NIC is an Intel X520-DA2 (two 10GB SFP+), not I am thinking of going DAC but I already have SFP+ GBIC and fiber<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parts for 2 JBOD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rack will be a GeeekPi 8U 10&#8243; Cabinet<br>Going to be tight because this is just an 8U unit each JBOD will take 3 U and the ATX power supply takes 2U<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I have a power supply for the JBOD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GL.inet GL-RM1 with ATX Power control board<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UPS (will use existing one)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orico 2.5mm SSD to 3.5 HD Adapter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>StarTech 3 bay with in 2 slot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Also found some test drives around the house to play with the new JBOD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weight: 326.6<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Getting ahead of schedule but all the parts are in for my 2026 NAS are here except for the drives.
