{"id":3499,"date":"2013-08-13T21:49:40","date_gmt":"2013-08-14T04:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=3499"},"modified":"2013-08-13T21:49:40","modified_gmt":"2013-08-14T04:49:40","slug":"setting-waypoints","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=3499","title":{"rendered":"Setting Waypoints"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What the heck is a waypoint?<\/p>\n<p>From wikipedia &#8220;A waypoint is a reference point in physical space used for purposes of navigation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I was thinking of using milestones instead but I want to reserve that in my blog as record achievements, where I beat something, but technically I could have used milestones.<\/p>\n<p>A more obvious choice is goals, settings goals, I have used it before, but I goal seems like the end. \u00a0What I want to set is a direction and point to head to, but that is not the end of the journey.<\/p>\n<h2>Waypoint 1 &#8211; End of Summer 2013 (Sat Sep 21)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Weight &#8211; 280<\/li>\n<li>Strength &#8211; Bench 185, Curl 20, Tri Extension 35<\/li>\n<li>Speed &#8211; RTC 15 minutes, TM 1 mile 12 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Endurance &#8211; Treadmill 1 hour 4.5 Miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Waypoint 2 &#8211; End of Fall 2013 (Fri Dec 20)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Weight &#8211; 260<\/li>\n<li>Strength\u00a0&#8211; Bench 205, Curl 30, Tri Extensions 40<\/li>\n<li>Speed\u00a0&#8211; RTC 13 minutes, TM 1 mile 11 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Endurance &#8211;\u00a0Treadmill 1.5 hour 7.5 Miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Waypoint 3 &#8211; End of Winter 2014 (Wed Mar 19, 2014)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Weight &#8211; 250<\/li>\n<li>Strength\u00a0&#8211; Bench 225, Curl 40, Tri Extensions 45<\/li>\n<li>Speed\u00a0&#8211; RTC 11 minutes, TM 1 mile 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Endurance\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Treadmill 3 hour 15 Miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Waypoint 4 &#8211; Reality Check (Sat May 31, 2014)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Weight &#8211; 240<\/li>\n<li>Strength &#8211; Bench 245, Curl 50, Tri Extensions 50<\/li>\n<li>Speed\u00a0&#8211; RTC 10 minutes, TM 1 mile 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Endurance &#8211;\u00a0Treadmill 4 hour 20 Miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Waypoint 4 is the critical one, if I cannot meet those waypoints on or before that date, then I will resign myself to a half marathon. \u00a0The only exception is strength, because the marathon is more of an endurance thing.<\/p>\n<p>Meeting a weight means 3 consecutive days at or below that weight, because weightloss can be deceiving.<\/p>\n<p>I did weigh in after my workout today, interesting in that I weighed in at 280.8, but the official weight is<\/p>\n<p>Weight: 283.0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What the heck is a waypoint?
