{"id":4807,"date":"2015-01-01T23:27:35","date_gmt":"2015-01-02T06:27:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=4807"},"modified":"2015-01-01T23:27:35","modified_gmt":"2015-01-02T06:27:35","slug":"welcome-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=4807","title":{"rendered":"Welcome 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First day of the year, full of hope and promise. \u00a0A fresh start.<\/p>\n<p>After saying goodbye late last night and welcoming the new year, \u00a0my kids decided to watch the sun rise. \u00a0Two of them stayed up, I went to bed. \u00a0I did wake up in time and we went out there waited in really cold weather to see the first sunrise of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>After that my oldest son went on a tear removing decorations. \u00a0I guess it signaled the end of the holidays.<\/p>\n<p>I stayed lazy most of the day. \u00a0My server was stable a few hours but I think heat or something is killing the CPU.<\/p>\n<p>I will move most of the critical VMs to another servers and see if I can do without this ESXi host till a purchase a replacement.<\/p>\n<p>Remarkably, I was able to backup some data with no errors on a failing machine. \u00a0 As I post I am doing the restore, I am hopeful. This server is not critical to my operations but it is hitting my pride because this is a signal that I would have lost a lot of data. \u00a0This is a Windows server and my skills in the Windows arena have eroded. \u00a0So a good restore would be a confidence boost for me.<\/p>\n<p>Update: Restore was good, for the most part.<\/p>\n<p>I did another half lap and half walk, was a little easier today than yesterday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First day of the year, full of hope and promise. \u00a0A fresh start.
