<\/a><\/p>\nI knew it had to do with the storage type, this happened to me in the past, but I did not know how to get around it.<\/p>\n
After some googling I came across this website.<\/p>\n
http:\/\/iamrobertsworry.livejournal.com\/791047.html<\/a><\/p>\n It was exactly what I needed. \u00a0The original disk was on SATA, and ESXi (my version anyway) only had LSI, Buslogic, and Paravirtual.<\/p>\n I opted to try LSI.<\/p>\n Instead of using the a Windows 7 disk, I used LARD and the reged utility.<\/p>\n I mounted the C: drive and went to Windows\/System32\/config<\/p>\n and ran<\/p>\n reged -e system<\/p>\n to open the system hive<\/p>\n I cd’d to\u00a0\\ControlSet001\\services\\intelide and changed it to 0x0<\/p>\n Here are all the other values that needed changing<\/p>\n Aliide = 3 LSI_SAS\\Start = 0x0<\/p>\n I pressed q to quit and it asked me if I wanted to save, I did and rebooted<\/p>\n Bingo<\/p>\n A virtualized clonezilla image.<\/p>\n Just doing pushups and situps today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I have an old crusty laptop that I was able to virtualize. \u00a0I did not want to install VMware converter on it, also I wanted to see if it was possible to virtualize from a clonezilla image.
