{"id":688,"date":"2011-01-13T23:45:11","date_gmt":"2011-01-14T06:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=688"},"modified":"2011-01-13T23:45:11","modified_gmt":"2011-01-14T06:45:11","slug":"trying-new-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=688","title":{"rendered":"Trying new stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a new music DVD, I am doing new weight lifting forms, and I am looking at interval training.<\/p>\n<p>You know sometimes you are afraid to try something not because it is unfamiliar, but because you have success with what you are doing now.\u00a0 The whole adage of &#8220;if it ain&#8217;t broke, don&#8217;t fix it&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Anyway first up is the music DVD, not really trying something new, just put together another DVD with newer music.\u00a0 The only change there is that it alters what songs I expect during my workout.\u00a0 For example, when Van Halen is playing I should have moved on to the elliptical by then.<\/p>\n<p>Next up is the weight lifting I am doing, I started doing upper back and arm workouts.\u00a0 It is really different and sore because it is using muscles I do not normally use.\u00a0 I guess it is OK because it exposes me do newer exercises that work different body parts.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, during my workout I have switched from a manual treadmill profile to a one that does interval training.\u00a0 I am still reading up on the science of it but I think it is supposed to burn more fat by getting your body to speed up and slow down.\u00a0 My guess is the acceleration or the working up of intensity burns more fat than staying up there at a high pace.<\/p>\n<p>Weigh in was good today, I feel like I am making progress.\u00a0 In two weeks I have lost 3 lbs so my goal is achievable.<\/p>\n<p>Weight: 261.4<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a new music DVD, I am doing new weight lifting forms, and I am looking at interval training.
