{"id":7878,"date":"2018-06-06T21:50:57","date_gmt":"2018-06-07T04:50:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=7878"},"modified":"2018-06-06T21:50:57","modified_gmt":"2018-06-07T04:50:57","slug":"433mhz-tx-troubles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?p=7878","title":{"rendered":"433Mhz TX Troubles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What a discovery today, figured out that the type of transmitter matters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=7879\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7879\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7879\" src=\"http:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/433MhzTXBetter.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"527\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/433MhzTXBetter.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/433MhzTXBetter-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.apolonio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/433MhzTXBetter-768x506.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note the one on the left, that is the better one.\u00a0 But from the electronics on board, they both seam the same.\u00a0 On thing I did notice when I looked at what I purchased is that the one on the left supported 3.3V, I don&#8217;t think the one on the right did.<\/p>\n<p>Also when defining the pulse length and protocol, the pulse length has to go first because it sets the defaults.<\/p>\n<p>Another aha moment was the MQTT library I was using, it is a newer version and it needed some changes.<\/p>\n<p>For one thing you need to define<\/p>\n<pre>mqttClient.onMessage(messageReceived);<\/pre>\n<p>In the setup.<\/p>\n<p>Then the actual messageRecieved function changed<\/p>\n<p>Used to be<\/p>\n<pre>void messageReceived(String topic, String payload, char * bytes, unsigned int length) {\r\n}<\/pre>\n<p>Now it is<\/p>\n<pre>void messageReceived(String &amp;topic, String &amp;payload) {\r\n}<\/pre>\n<p>Kind of frustrating but it is a learning experience.<\/p>\n<p>I was going to post stuff about my summer goals, but this is enough for today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a discovery today, figured out that the type of transmitter matters.
