I had this server for a couple of months now, been getting the parts.<\/p>\n

My current file server is a Super Micro as well but it is running Linux.\u00a0 I am thinking of running FreeNAS on this hardware.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I was able to purchase the hard drives for this server<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Four 4TB 7200RPM drives.<\/p>\n

When I purchased these yesterday there were a lot of them.\u00a0 But when I checked again today, about 28 hours later, they were all sold out.\u00a0 Glad I got them.<\/p>\n

So today, I just purchased a pair of USB flash drives which will be mirrored and used for boot.\u00a0 Weird that you can mirror USB drives, but the FreeNAS forums said you can do it.<\/p>\n

This server will also sport a 6TB scratch\/workspace drive that will not be backed up.<\/p>\n

More tech focused, work out and family stuff, not so much.<\/p>\n

Speaking of workout, did a three plus today<\/p>\n

Still bad, but better than last week.<\/p>\n

Prior to the “run” I was 282.6 the official weight is below, which I did beat afterwards by using the bathroom at 280.6.\u00a0 Sooo close.<\/p>\n
