Inconsistent Sensors

It is weird, I have the units in the same general area, and they can’t seem to sniff the same sensors.

I change the antennas and did a bunch of different lengths and I am still not getting the same information.

I am getting good results with the black sonoff.

Maybe an different module will help. I am expected the RXB12 to outperform the RXB8.

So now it is a waiting game till the new modules come in.

RF 443 Assembly Line

I got my units on an assembly line now

New 433Mhz Devices

You can see the Sonoff on the left I am trying to match, then a hardware prototyping breadboard

The dev one for testing software, three production ones next to it in various assembly phases.

Still messing with the signal, I think I am going to try changing the antenna type.

Dev Unit Is Done

It is built

Development Unit

Maybe a few hardware tweaks here and there but I am OK with this unit.

Now to work on the software.

Pivoting to Node MCU

I am changing what I am building to nodemcu and a different receiver. Pictured is an RXB6 but with minor modifications I can do an RXB12 which is on order. Also this will go on a breadboard. Electronically this is the best route so far.

Better Version of Bridge

BOM so far is 7.82.

Oh and not intended but no soldering.

Starting to prototype the case.

Low Power Wemos

Its been frustrating, but I got a couple wemos D1 mini’s that cannot provide enough power.

I switched to a nodemcu and back to the RXB6 and now I can match the receive signals that the Sonos RF Bridge black.

Older 433Mhz Receivers

But I would like to move to something like this.

Possible Module

I am got the stuff for my prototype, put it together in 40 minutes. I think It will be faster if a soldered the connections.

Current Model with T and R

We’ll see how it goes, I will add a picture of the NodeMCU version later.

Happy 4th of July 2023

I noticed I been getting a lot done.

On the home cleaning boxes are sorted and ready to be donated.

I got one of my alarm systems done. (Not quite, just need to screw in the lights and alarms, maybe add a more quiet alert.

As I type I just figured out how to send data via CLI

Got to admit it is struggling a bit, older Raspberry Pi.

I also figured using a brim vs skirt make my prints look nicer.

Foot still hurting though.

Hard To Move

Left knee hurts, right ankle hurts. Hard to get around the house let alone getting any steps.

Yet I still endure.

House is getting organized and my projects are coming together.

Not Much Workout Today

I did not do much on the workout today, but I did really get some boxes out of the way in my home.

I was expecting to do 4 boxes, but I think I did 30 only 5 more left in the hallway.

Most of it was done sitting down.

Not sure why but my ankle really hurts. Could be gout.

Goals for 2H 2023

July 1st, half of year gone by. Time for a little reflection.

The year has not been bad, but I am not where I wanted to be health wise and financially.

The house is coming together, it is getting neater and my projects are coming through but I still struggle with getting them across the finish line.

Couple things I would like to do

  • get my weight under 310. That is a lot to ask, but I really want to get it done.
  • Get my network upgraded to Rocky 9, even though the future is uncertain for RHEL distros.
  • Automate with ansibile, including cloud stuff.
  • Get the 433Mhz gateways up
  • Get visual audio alarms up
  • Get second core strip installed
  • Massive 48TB installed.

There are other non public ones. But here are the ones willing to say.

Today I walked a 5k, when got home, even though I had breakfast I was under 340. Barely

Got the arduino audio visual alert running.

Got the rasperry pu audio visual alert started.

Got the wemos D1 mini 433mhz sensor working. I screwed up, I burned out one due to mis wiring. Need to order replacements now. But eh development board is running.

Did hit my fitbit goals.

Did Good On Trip

Wife and I had fun on a little get away.

Got home and rested so this is a really late post.

Was going to post ideas for the rest of the year, but will do it tomorrow.
