This was one of the better Christmas Eve’s, there was stress, but it was OK.

I think we had money and was able to get things we needed last minute albeit at a premium.

It was good. Calling it that.

The Ice Is Real

Haven’t seen freezing rain like this before. My CRV was encrusted with ice.

The parking lots at stores were bad too, I dropped off my wife and son by the door in order for them to get in.

But at home the sidewalks were bad, but we did scrape a bit.

Roads were bad too, even more heavily driven ones. Our was really bad.

Ice Storm Coming

Tomorrow there will be freezing rain in our area. New channels advise staying home if possible.

I think we can huddle and stay home. May need to venture out to go shopping.

It is already cold.

Starting to plan next year, working on schedule for rocky 9 upgrades. At same time incorporating backups, monitoring and metering.

Keyboard may be shot, but I let it sit for 24 hours and some keys came back. Maybe needs more time.

Winter Solstice 2022

I am on a new keyboard, unintentionally. I tried cleaning my keyboard, I don’t think is it back to normal.

So used to my old keyboard but it was nasty

I did a full thorough cleaning, even taking out the keys.

Looks new feels new, but some keys dont work. There was some ISO 99% that got in there, but I didn’t think it would affect it.

Hoping letting it dry will help.

May have been a short day (daylight wise) but I been busy.

At least now it starts to get brighter again.

Weird Busy Day

Got so much happening today, meetings , incidents and other things going on.

Weird how it is getting busy so close to the holidays at work, normally there is a freeze on work.

A Feel Organized

I think a lot of the disorder in my office was interrupting my train of thought.

Now things are pretty clean, I feel like I am about to get a burst of productivity.

Also testing out some new pens, yes pens.

I hate dealing with pens that don’t work, so I invested over $50 on a bunch of quality pens.

Office Clean

Feeling better mentally, less distraction.

Office looks great.

Actually rearranged some cables and moved some label printers, got some long cables. I need to accept that I need to reconfigure my workspace for whatever new tasks are at hand.

Hopefully I wont have to do it much in 2023.

Used Hard Drives

Found that you can get a great deal on used drives, but not sure if they are realiable.

So giving it a try on a non critical server I will use to test restores.

I am hoping the ZFS and RAID will protect me. We will see.

Undecomming a Box

Looks like I will be setting up a backup NAS server.

Purchased Four 4TB SAS disks. We will see how that goes.

Seahawks lost, so son swim in a meet for the first time.

Need to do some 2023 goal setting.
