Batten down the hatches, big storm coming. As I post there are reports already of power outages.

So doing a quick post myself before it is too late.

I just wanted to see how long it took me to build an Linux Server on my network from nothing.
Patched, with LDAP and all the little requirements I have on my network.

Here is the short answer 38 minutes 36 seconds
A little more detail
23:37 was the initial OS Build
29:55 was the initial configuration via ansible
31:57 was SSL and some other ssh keys stuff
38:36.01 was the final all patched and can go into production.
Does not include monitoring or backups.

I had about 2 hours of sleep last night, I was ok though. Because I had a lot of rest in the bank so to say.
What was surprising was I got my 10k steps and 10 floors.
I was going to call it quits, but my son convinced my to go to the Y, it was a good feeling, I initially did only 15 minutes on the elliptical, but when I saw I only needed 30 more minutes I would get it all, I hid the treadmill.
I did get more progress on my KVM host. I got it kickstarting and it works.

Been working a bit on my QEMU KVM kickstart today.
Kind of fun hobby, enjoyed seeing it come together.
I got the kickstart going and am working on a proper workflow to get this working.
Got my weight officially under 340 again.

I want to refine my notes in getting a QEMU HOST server built and running.
I already got something going and it looks ok, but not 100%
I upgraded my test QEMU box with 36GB of RAM, tomorrow will start documenting what I did.

A sudden bill I had to take care of, a server that didn’t connect, patching that took way longer than expected and my schedule was thrown off.
Was supposed to be home by 1PM and I just got home at 7:30PM.
I did get my 10k steps and my weigh in is less than 340.

What a pain to get set up, but I needed it for my projects. This will have 32GB of RAM and , 500GB NVME and a 500GB SATA disk for long term storage. I may upgrade it in the future.
It was bios locked, the NVME is hard to access, and although it can just use 65W, my HP proper 65W adapters do not seem to work.

It is becoming clear that I need to create instructions on building a separate stand alone Qemu Podman machine.
I need to document its maintenance and monitoring.
I can squish it all into one box but it is making it more complex.
Today found some hardware that may do the trick.

I think I got a good update as of today for my PRIME build with the latest home-assistant, cloudflared and pihole.
I also got a quick setup build going on. It should be validated by tomorrow.
Ironed out isssues with podman and qemu-kvm networking.

Setting up my lab demo for 2025. Finally got it out and slowly setting it up. With my new 3D printer and the gridfinity system I think I can make it better.
Need to look at what my goals are for 2025.
I actually got my ST400 to build systems.
Interesting day regarding my steps, I got most of them 8500 and the 10 floors by 11AM and the rest of the day up till about 9:30 to get my final 1,500 steps.
