Cool Onvif Tool

One of the problems I get when I test a new camera is setting it up.

Trying to figure out the IP(sometimes is it not in the DHCP logs), changing it, then figuring out what the rtsp settings are.

But today I came across a free new tool on sourceforge called ONVIF device manager.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/onvifdm/?source=typ_redirect

Works great at detecting the device and letting you configure it and giving you a sample rtsp URL to try.

On another note, I am starting to touch some CPU bottlenecks in zoneminder especially when the montage is running in HD color.

Looking at a 6 core X5660 Xeon

That will bump me up not only from a total of 8 cores to 12, but will got from 2.13Ghz to 2.80 Ghz

For comparison

CPU E5606 X5660
Speed 2.13 Ghz 2.80 Ghz
Cores 4 8
Passmark 3045 7640

Finally, I am running out of PoE ports in my setup, so I am adding some PoE injectors for now.

Interesting that it was cheaper to do Amazon same day, than buying at Frys.  Got two of them at nearly what it would cost for 1 at Frys.
