What a struggle, screen is cracked on my son’s device so I cannot properly work on it.
Luckily a mouse and keyboard work so we can get into and back up the device.
Posting a little late, but getting it in.

Wow, got some cool stuff today.
Wasn’t expecting this, was looking for a keyboard (sorry see future posts on keyboard) and was shown this. Couldn’t help myself and got it.

Then this came in Amazon, going to try it tonight.

And finally from Amazon again

Going to have a lot of fun the next few days.

Yay, officially Spring. Feels early because we had an extra day on February.
Today after eating a late lunch I felt really weird.
BP shot to 190/80 (TBF I dont think it was on right)
I walked around a bit and felt better.
The walking sure does help.
As I post I only have 1500 steps. Headed to airport cause kind of late and dark already.
Will updated if I did not get my 10,000 steps.

I am finding myself using AI a lot more, used AI to create a jingle for my mom so she could remember something.
Had my monthly meetup today and we chatted about AI and some other things.
Started my workout at 2500 steps and 0 floors. Got up to 9500 steps on treadmill in an hour with a 5 minute cool down.

So many tasks, not much completed.
Yesterday I woke up late, although I fixed a huge AWS problem I had. Today although I did not wake up super late, I slept in and woke up to some powered off ESXi hosts.
When I brought up the ESXi hosts, one of them lost a data store. Luckily I have backups, unfortunately one of them was a Domain Controller. On that same DS was a Linux box, I rebuilt from backups fairly quickly. The DC took much longer, partially because I built using an essentials version when it should have been a Standard.
To be fair, the service came up and rebuild was easy, but still slow.

Went to casino late last night, looks like gambling can be a problem if you do not know when to quit. I was ahead I should have gone home. Need to change my strategy plan.
Came home late, slept late. I should have finished sooner and gotten to bed earlier. Woke up late, like 1 or 2PM.
I did figure out, in the short few hours I was awake, what was wrong with my VM. Couple things I needed to do, first off enable serial connectivity, another thing is to enable bios names.

Been working on this for couple of hours, but the Instance I have can’t seem to update the kernel.
Fully functional. just not the kernel.
Not sure what is going on.
Anyway, watched son run today, not an official race, but he did well.
Was a nice day walking Cedar River afterwards.

Trying to get a new VM automated to get alternate connectivity from my network.
It is pretty streamlined, using aws and ansible to get it up.
What is nice I can pretty setup quickly.
Went to gym today, felt pretty dang good on the treadmill. I think I am taking another step towards fitness.

At about midnight last night (a little past), Comcast went down again.
I successfully switched to my mobile hotspot via ddwrt router and was able to get some internet functionality back.
By coincidence this device came in today.

It goes under the name KuWFi 4G LTE USB WiFi Modem Mobile.
When you plug it in, it gives you an RFC 1918 IP address (you can configure this)
From there you can connect to the Internet.
It does appear as an ethernet device in Windows. I am going to try this with Linux, but online reviews said after a while it reverts to a “modeswitch to a GSM modem”. I vaguely recall what that is, but I am going to do more research on it.
For those researching, I basically got a t-mobile SIM, activated it using a normal smart phone (in my case a Pixel Pro 7) then moved the SIM into the device.
The SIM actually goes into the USB portion.
So when you get it plugged in like I said you get an IP address via DHCP, the default gateway is the device and you can connect to it with a browser.
From the browser you can send and receive SMS messages.
We will see though, I am going to connect my Linux box to it and see how it behaves for a few weeks.
