Moving on to NodeMCU

With the price of a NodeMCU hitting about $10, I think I am going to use that as my device of choice when doing wifi projects. I certainly will still use an Arduino, or an ESP8266, but the nodemcu is … Continue reading →

More Progress on XMas Decoration

I got the IR in and am able to write messages on to the LCD screens. But now I am having stability issues on my ESP8266. Another maker Dave had some recommendations on stabalizing the ESP8266, luckily I have the … Continue reading →

Power Issues With ESP8266

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I really struggled with my ESP8266 and its connection with the Arduino.  After some troubleshooting I figured out it is probably signal quality on the ESP8266.  I cap’d it and … Continue reading →

Programming The ESP8266

I started programming the ESP8266, for now I just pushout some data so that the Arduino can read it and display it.  It is my hope that the data will be held on the ESP8266 since it has considerably more … Continue reading →

XMas Display 2015

I made some progress on my Internet of Things Christmas display. This will probably be the minimum configuration, Arduino Uno, 20X4 LCD display, TM1637 and ESP-01. Will work on it some more. Just doing pushups and situps.

Self Shutoff Works

I figured out how to shutdown the arduino with a TIP-120. I needed a larger resistor though so I put two 10k’s in series. Just doing pushups and situps. Sleeping early.

Self Shutoff Arduino

I am trying to figure out a way to shutoff the arduino using a TIP 120. Actually is an esp8266 ESP-01 module. I was trying to keep it up with the signal send high through the base of the Tip … Continue reading →
