Last year I made a small heart, this year I made a little rose with a tea light in it.
Recall a few days ago I got a remote site working with my son. Today I got a hard drive and am doing a local sync and having him bring that drive to his dorm.
Also gonna start renovating the downstairs bathroom. After this post I am going to cut away some drywall to see how bad it is.

Got couple things going on today, figured out how to install ZFS on Rocky 9.7 (note required upgrading from ZFS 2.1 to 2.2
Also installed some fresh UPS batteries, didn’t know some were replaced already and still good. Kind of illustrates reasons for tracking.
Finally, got a new air filter for my office, replaced all the filters for existing ones too. My server room has an air filter now.
All this in addition to my normal Friday tasks.
Daughter moved back in, may get crowded at home.

Good weekend coming up, no football, extra day off, and got a few tasks.
Allows me to start minor renovations that I had planned. One of my goals for February was to make the last bathroom nicer.
Got some material already.
Also the last of the drives are coming in for my NAS, I can begin building it.

Finally got it working, it took just an hour or so to figure it out.
Unfortunately I do not have detailed documentation on how I did it, but here are a couple of small notes

Woohoo, I got a remote site working. I was able to walk my son at PLU to connect the network to home.
The trick was connecting to EDUROAM. I needed a different firmware to get it to work.
Also at home got a bell ringer going. Will see how it goes.

What a great win, I posted about it yesterday, but wanted to continue with a bit more today.
There was a couple redemption story arc’s
The first is the the number, this was LX was our first championship game, prior to me starting this blog, but it was bad because I felt like momentum flew out the door when an OPI happened. Also it felt like a home game for the other team (Stealers) because Detroit was nearby.
In this game, which was played in Santa Clara, was closer to Seattle than to New England.
Speaking of the Santa Clara, the 49ers home stadium, they are our main Rivals and we got won the championship in their home field. They were also the first team we played this season, and they beat us at home.
The other team that has been giving us fits this past few years were the LA RAMS. Our QB Sam Darnold committed a lot of turnovers in that first game against the RAMs. We barely lost that game, and the new media was on it where Sam was a choke artist. His team mates stood up for him, and said he was a good player.
Ever since that game we have not lost. There was what I think the game of the year against the RAMs on a Thursday night. The RAMs were lighting up our vaunted offense. But Sam put on a show and show resiliance as we game back and beat the Rams in overtime with going for 2 and not settling for a tie. That win, but us in first place and in control of the 1st place seed.
Our finale was against the 49ers (yes our first and last game were against the 9ers), and we dominated, which launched us into the post Season where we earned a bye because of our 1st place seeding.
Two weeks later, we played them again in the divisional round, and we beat them, soundly. On the kickoff we scored a touchdown and the extra point gave as 7 and that is all we needed because the 49ers could only muster 6 points. People were jokingly saying that the game was over after that kickoff touchdown. We slaughtered them 41 to 6.
The following week was against the media darling LA Rams. It was a battle, two extremely good teams. But we were at home, we had a bye, and the last game against the 9ers was not a difficult one. Some say this was the superb owl and whoever won this game would easily beat the AFC representative.
Of course we won by stringing along a bunch of good wins.
Then there are the Patriots and the last Superbowl the Seahawks were in. We lost to them last minute derailing a possible dynasty. This win may be the heralding of a new Seahawks dynasty. It erased a decade of a bad taste.
Finally there is the Sam Darnold redemption arc, he was labeled a 1st round bust. During a game where he was shut out by the Patriots, he was overheard saying he was seeing ghosts.
He was cast off by the Viking last season and they looked dominant, yet they did not even make the playoffs.
Was a great game. There is so much more to add, but I need to post this before midnight. It was a very redeeming Season for a Seahawks Fan.

Today I barely did anything, got some snacks and packed up my son’s server rack, but it was centered around the game.
Pre game right before kickoffs, I did a walk.
Fun times. Savor the moment.

Recall couple months ago I tried to get my son a server rack at his dorm.
But I could not get wifi working on the router I repurposed because it did not support WPA enterpise.
Today I added a travel router that should support it
It is that little device I had on top.
Took longer then I expected to set this up, had problems with the servers and my crash case… crashed.
Got another monitor and keyboard and finished the job.
Hoping this works.

Had today off and I was able to work a bit on my server room. I have come to the conclusion that it is kind of done. Maybe there is some dusting but for the most part it is clean and now I can do some minor clean up things like getting correct length cables.
Most of the UPS have fresh batteries and I have some on order.
Now is the fun part where I can add things and make it look cool, in short I did a big cleanup and now time to enhance and regrow.

Superbowl weekend, It is Thursday but I got tomorrow off which is good because I got a slew of things to do before Sunday.
I really want to get most of my stuff done by Saturday so I can enjoy Sunday.
