Wife Leaving For Trip

Wife is going overseas tonight, posting a bit early so I can drop her off.

She will be gone for nearly two weeks, kind of long, hope the house doesn’t fall apart.

Feeling a little heavy today, hoping the zepbound dosage increase helps.

Proxmox Cluster Done

Although things do change, I think this is the final setup for the proxmox cluster.

Got the cool aux power supply in the front, which also has rear connections.

Did the parkrun today, did not PR, I needed a break so I didn’t push.

Day was not slow at all, had so much going on.

Going To Be Crazy Weekend

I don’t think I will truly rest this weekend. Tomorrow I got parkrun and then I have to get wife ready for an emergency trip abroad.

What is weighing heavy is a document that is due Monday.

I need to watch my time budget carefully.

With that said, next week going to be quick. Three normal days, Thursday will be a cloudflare seminar, then a stretch of 4 day weekend.

Burnout Again

Slept early, but still not getting enough sleep. I even overslept a bit today (still had to work in the evening).

I was so tired for most of the day. Took a nap before walking but barely made it before Got late and nearly dark before I walked.

Hoping tomorrow will be better.

Wild Day Not Enough Time

What a wild and busy day, not enough hours.

I was able to kill two birds with one stone, recall a branch that needed to be trimmed

My son and his friend did it for $200.

So I saved time by freeing myself up from not having to do the work. My kid and his friend made some money to fund a trip to California.

I barely made my 1hour treadmill run though, and I just finished my walk. It is past 11:50PM but still 6/10.

Another Wind Storm

Wind storm in the area caused power to flicker again. UPS all did their job and did not see any major outages.

But a branch on our pine tree did break.

Hoping we can bring it down tomorrow. Still blowing, more branches will fall.

Final note, first time I installed Proxmox.

Proxmox Host

I think everything I need in the proxmox host is in there.

I got the 256GB NVME and 32 RAM

Note I have an open slot which I can add another NVME in, in the future I may populate it with a 2TB NVME to run VMs off of.

Most of the VMs, at least initially, will run off the TrueNAS box I have. It will have 10gb nic connection. If you are looking to buy they NIC they are Mellanox CX312C-XCCT ConnectX-3 Pro. I 3D printed an cover that fits perfectly.

I can’t seem to find the original stl, I need to track these things better.

Note that the image above shows an Wifi module, this is the only unit of the 4 that has it.

Decent workout, day not done, I still need to get out and walk my mile. Raining though, gonna suck.

Proxmox Cluster Coming Along

An updated on my proxmox cluster. It is coming along

I dont have all the parts and still getting stuff, but theses are four Lenovo M920X

Forgot the CPU but they should all have 32GB of RAM.

Not the NIC on top, 10G will connect to network with LAN.

They will all have a 256GB NVME Drive as well.

Note how I put an HDMI keystone on the front.

Here is the back, not lack of a 3D printed mount. I am working on it.

Need to create a BOM before I forget what was in it.

Another thing I worked out today was the Linux file server. I added 2 of the new drives and am currently resilvering them. It is odd, has One 1TB hard drive, One 2TB Hard Drive, and now Two 4TB hard Drives.

Hopefully before I got to bed I can get the last disk in.

Making Peace With Data Loss

I have a disk that I just screwed up on, I did a dd thinking I was clearing another drive and I deleted one with a lot of non backed up TV recordings.

It is sad but not a disaster, I only back up critical stuff.

Also booking a flight for my wife to the Philippines, funny how we both look at the fees differently. She’s mad at the baggage fees, but it is not a recurring cost so I don’t scrutinize it as much.
