Finally got zoneminder on Rocky 9. The CentOS 7 instance built in Q1 2021 needs some rest. Prior to that was Zoneminder built in August 2017, and the first instance of that was way back on a Pentium 4 CentOS 5.5 with 2GB of RAM.
How times have changed.
This instance is on an Intel 12th Gen with 2th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K, with 32GB of RAM, and both an 500GB NVME drive and 10TB SATA drive and even that is not enough.
I need 64GB of RAM because OOM killer is whacking zoneminder. My old system has 64GB but it is still running so I ordered more RAM.
Another problem is the refurb hard drive I have, I did not do a proper check of the drive, now it is kicking out SMART errors.
Finally, it only had 1 CPU FAN, I need to add two more system fans to keep it cool.
Not done, a way more to go.
