Tracking What I eat

My training buddy and coworker David seemed surprised when I said I Wednesday’s was a 1000 calories (AKA Cardio) day for me.  He wanted to make sure I was also counting my intake as well.

To be honest, and this is an admission of guilt… Not accurately.  I usually do look at nutrition facts, but it hard to gauge the calorie count for things that do not have a label.

For example… the Halo Halo… old buddy Lianne is asking for.  I honestly don’t know… I am guessing it is high like 500 calories  but because I use low fat milk and not as much sugar as most, I am guessing 400 calories.  So it really becomes subjective.

I used to track everything via thedailyplate.com, but I found myself only eating items that had Nutrition Information label.  In a way, I was not eating stuff cause I did not want to deal with the data entry.  Of course there is the other view that I was seeing how much I consume so I did not eat as much.

So nowadays I keep a running tally in my head as best as I can, since a lot of things can be subjective anyway.

But David is probably right, if I kept a precise tally on my intake… I will lose weight. If I fail to hit 235 by end of summer, I will resume tracking my consumption to see if I can adjust my Net Calories on the other side of the equation.

Now I feel like a hipocrit.

Anyway, weight is not on track… I better get a move on it.

Weight: 247.6
