Finally got my vlan’s up and working. I can call it done!!!!
The magic was choosing the right router and firmware version. For me it was the Linksys E2000.

Another magic item was getting bridging working
The ifconfig statement helped with show my what interfaces where what based on the MAC.
Also bought a Samsung 7″ Tablet, actually got two of them. One for my mom, I like the form factor, but it is missing some stuff like flash for photos and GPS.
Still looks like it works well.
