Self Evaluation Time

Part of My “Preseason” is to evaluate where I am at, Tuesday tested out my upper body strength, technically it does not count, so next Tuesday I will try again.

Yesterday I was too busy to hit the gym but I did hit the gym today and attempted a 1000 calorie workout.

Wow, what a struggle, I felt like my chest was going to explode, it took me 40 minutes on the treadmill at 5MPH to burn 685 calories (there was an additional 5 minute cooldown) and 25 minutes (which included a 2 minute cooldown) that I burned 345 Calories on the elliptical.

I started cramping towards the end of the elliptical workout so I knew I was closing in on my limits, but I was able to burn more than 1000 calories.  It did take 1 hour and 10 minutes to get there.  So here is my first goal (albiet unofficial), is to do 1000 calorie workouts with in an hour.

That will require me to up the speed and increase incline for the treadmill as well as increase the RPM and difficulty level on the elliptical.

I also continue to recruit people to run the 1/2 marathon.  It is almost time.

As for my weight… I do hope I can keep it under 260, but I just checked last year and I ended it at 248.4.  I probably will not match that this year, but it should not deter me… in fact it should inspire and challenge me.

And that is a good sign.
