Hot Chocolate Run 2016

Although my performance was not that great I am happy with being under 50 minutes.  That is something to build on this year.

I went to bed before 9PM but I was still pretty darn sleepy when the alarm went off at 4:15AM

I really really need to prep things the DAY before, not that evening.  My play list was good and it helped.

We were a little late getting there, we left the house at 5:20 but was able to get into the garage a little before 6AM.  We had some time to rest and chill.  At that time there was ample parking.  It was $15.

The route was OK, a downhill run to get moving,  I looked at my watch and was clocking a little over 15 minute mile.  Somone lifted the flag for the 2 mile point but it was for the guys behind us running the 15k.  I knew because as I passed that marker it was 22 minutes so I knew it was wrong.

My oldest son was in the B Corral and my Daughter was in the E Corral.  I was way back in the L Corral.  By the time I got to the start point it was already 30 minutes in and my son was probably coming in by then.

Overall it was fun, a GREAT started for the running season.
