Inadvertent Upgrade

I was messing around with installing pihole today on Rocky 9. I figured it out with my prior notes.

At the same time I decided to upgrade my pihole on CentOS 7. It failed miserably.

It wanted some glibc that was newer.

Luckily I just went through the steps to install pihole on rocky 9, so it was trivial to spin up a new box. I just transferred /etc/pihole from the old to the new and some custom rules I had in /etc/dnsmasq.d

Another cool thing I did was script an update for all of the boxes monitored in nagios. I was able to patch all of them today relatively easy.

Office Reorg

Got back to cleaning office, kind of needed it, but more so, I moved stuff around.

I identified that my work rack needs to be outside the closet. It looks nicer that way.

Continued with my taxes, should be finished next weekend.

Foot Getting Better But Still Limited

Doesn’t mean I did not get a lot done though.

Big one was getting my stock Rocky Linux box as as an AMI in AWS.

I also got a new save, that was heavy, and started my taxes.

Got a lot going on, didn’t feel like it.

Maybe because I had extra time due to rest.

Gout Back

I think it has been over 2 years, but it is back. My left knee hurts and my right foot has gout. So it is hard to walk.

I been drinking water to try and reverse things, but it does hurt. Slowly going away.

I am pretty sure I will not walk tomorrow.

Colonoscopy Today

Full disclosure, now that it is done.

I been prepping for this procedure since Tuesday night, yesterday I started a drink called Trilyte. Lost quite a bit of weight.

Stopped eating Tuesday night and start with two tablespoons of Milk of Magnesia.

Started drinking the Trilyte yesterday evening. The drink was nasty but wasn’t as bad as others have told me. Just held my nose as I drank each glass. Half gallon yesterday night and half gallon today. About 8 glasses every 10 minutes. Takes a bit over an hour to get through it.

Evening was bad, but I certainly went a lot and it did clean me out.

During this morning I was used to it, and the second phase was OK, got the color I needed.

Wife and daughter assisted me at the hospital. My procedure was at 12:45PM and I was to arrive there at 11:45AM. It was actually a good time, because it was after lunch and I got started with no delay.

I was out of there by 2PM, it was actually quick, I went under and next thing I knew I was in the recovery room. I think I was in my personal vehicle by 2PM. I felt drunk.

I got home watch a few youtube videos. But was still sleepy, woke up at 6PM and had dinner.

Pretty interesting day. Marking it as a milestone because it was my first.

On a final note, there were a lot of Filipino nurses that new my family.

Tomorrow now 12k steps either.

Making Peace With Not Making Steps

I need to heal and I have a medical procedure tomorrow.

I feel like I am cheating, but I think I have made peace with not working out.

Going to take it easy today, tomorrow, and Friday.

Hoping my body heals by then and I can resume.

Hurting All Over

The pain is getting to me and is getting close to injury status.

Although I did my fitbit goals today, I don’t think I can meet them tomorrow.

I think it is time I truly rest.

May taper down tomorrow, just do 8000 steps and 10 floors, but on Thursday, just doing pushups and situps, not even floors. I have a medical procedure.

And probably resting Friday as well.

Late And Cold

Pushing it again, I had to take care of something and starting my walk late.

It is nearly 10PM as I post this and got nearly 10,000 steps left to go.

Posting now before my walk but I think I can make it.

Where Did Spring Go

It is still cold, and not fun to go out. Even driving around it is dreary. Bring on spring already, even if it comes with rain.

Worked out in the YMCA for the first time since Covid. Son went swimming, I may soon.

Weight is crazy, I dunno why it is so high.

Still stuck above 330 and this was after my workout.

Not sure what I have to do, not eat maybe?
