So hard drives are a big expense for a NAS, but I was thinking of purchasing used SAS drives for a new NAS for testing.

I will leave it off so power should not be an issue, I can power it on for testing restores

Finally, Server In Full Production

My new backup server is in full production, I got urbackup working and it is getting monitored.

All the old backup systems are working, even ESXi, database and mail.

Also purchased a new domain, shouldn’t have started another project, but I did.

I hope to have it as a live community site.

Also got another 4 letter domain but another TLD it is pogi.live

So we will see, if it comes at anything.

Frustration Mounts

I have no idea why my software works in preproduction but fails in production.

Anyway, my new server is up but urbackup is not working.

Going to keep hammering at it. I suspect it is a php problem.

Looks like time to workout again.

New Backup Server

Backup server is kind of up, most stuff work. There is a LOT to configure.

But once this is done, I am going to do a ReaR backup I learned about.

Hopefully this will go ok and I have a DR backup.

Rosetta Reunion

Its been nearly two decades since I left Rosetta, I company I have had a lot of fond memories. It was so cool to have the former CEO invite us over to his home to have a get together.

I enjoyed seeing all of them, it brought back a rush of positive memories.

What a great trip. We actually won enough money to pay for our meals and hotel room. So it was indeed a great time.

But got a headache, not feeling too great.

My go to bed and sleep early.

Getaway Shopping Trip

Cleaned up the office a bit, and getting pieces for new backup server.

Got my weight down under 320 for 3 days in a row, so official under 320.

Got another physical machine virtualized. Slowly getting there.

Hoping to upgrade my backup server soon.

Another issue I been dealing with is home assistant. There is a device conflict with ubiquity and home assistant. So frustrating.

Need More Parts

The case I got for my new backup server is missing a few parts, after that I got all I need. When they come in, I will rebuild my backup server. Basically the missing parts for the case and an NVME.

Looks good, just need those parts. I flashed an Perc H310 into IT mode, just need to get the 10G card which is in the old server.

Hoping everything is here by Sunday with a deployment on Monday.

Tomorrow will probably decomm another box.

Weight is weird, I think yesterday was an outlier.

Retiring More Physical Machines

I am so close to replacing my backup server with newer faster, lower power hardware and virtualizing another Plex Server.

I could pull the trigger next weekend on both of them.

Anyway. making sure all is proper before I do it.
