Still not 100% sure what is going on with zoneminder NVR, I did replace the power supply and looks like it added some stability. But today as it was running I noticed it was overheating, it did hit some high temps over 100C which is considered critical.
Going to try a new fan I got. Need to get this right.
I am also adding a nagios monitor for CPU temps.
Got my steps done, but still a lot more things to do.
Although today was a day off, it was a struggle today.
We did get home late last night, by the time I went to bed it was 6AM and I did weigh in anr cracked 330, so that is the official. But I did eat dinner (by then breakfast) and the rest of the day I did not crack 330, but I did taste cracking 330.
Which technically makes it the lightest I been this year. Not only did the scale show it, but a shirt that used to be tight on my was not so tight.
After my swim today was too tired to clean. It is because a mix of not enough sleep, and the swim. I did not want to go swimming today, but I did, I pushed when I was lazy, shows the ability to overcome.
On a positive note, I got the zoneminder running again, I think the problem may have been with an unstable firmware to the motherboard. It also could be a bad power supply. I will probably return the CPU I got.
Also tried to upgrade my Windows 10 to Windows 11, failed again. May have to install everything from scratch.
I thinking I will go to bed early and sleep in. Won’t help tomorrow but will help Sunday.
Remember how I was patting myself on the back that we kept the food all good Sunday night. Well lesson learned, make sure the power bank is still providing power for the freezer after the power comes back.
The result… spoilage.
This is about $500 to $700 worth of spoilage. With that said, the wife mentioned that some of that needed to be thrown out.
Looking to deploy my first kvm production host this weekend, and upgrading a bunch of other infrastructure server like DNS via pihole.
I am worried that I don’t have enough pieces in place though. I need to bring down the power consumption in the home, going smaller may be the way to go.
But the other bigger issue is I need family to get up network enough to bring up the house.
Power went out today around 11:30AM , 2 and a half hours before the Seahawk game started. The Anker solix did its Job.
I got my laptop and the hdhomerun plugged in. Frist thing was the fridge, and my phone was able to connect to bluetooth and let me know how much power I had.
I then had my son run an extension to the closet where the HD Homerun was, I was able to plug the power strip in. Then I needed network, I had a switch in there and was able to get it up and connected to the Mifi which I put the old SIM back in from the Netgear Mobile Router.
I was thinking of leaving it in the Netgear but it did not have wifi. Better to just move to the mifi.
I then used the dump switch in the closet to connect the mifi and the hdhomerun. That was good enough for my laptop to connect via wifi and access the mifi network.
The Anker was amazing, it held power for couple of hours. Giving us ample time to get the generator up.
Game started by then, but Anker Power pack held up.
PSE came up with couple announcements
Power actually came back on at 8PM
All the Anker held up, we did run out of propane but we had a second tank.
Every Friday I compile a list of things to do over the weekend. I am looking through some of the things and I feel like I did get stuff done, but visually around the house it does not feel like it.
One of the things I want to do is clean my office, the living room and garage. I don’t think I am going to accomplish that.
One problem this weekend is I did not know an MRI contrast can make you tired. So after my MRI I was beat.
I did do some stuff later in the afternoon, but had to get my steps in.
Finished late. I should just get a good nights sleep and start tomorrow.
Day started off like a normal Friday, going through my morning checklist, backing up stuff talking to people, getting finances straight.
As the afternoon rolled in, I realized it was 3PM day flew by quickly.
I got some steps before heading over to Parkland to get my son. Got there at 6:45 needed to get back quick and get my steps in.
Got most of my steps when I got back and by slightly after 8PM I got my 9750 steps.
Went to Snoqualmie casino NOT to gamble, but with two of our kids for a buffet. We scored two free Buffet and was able to cover the rest with point we have earned.
Wife and I had some slot free play as well, got it to an $80 win, so gas paid, stomachs full, finished my floors and my steps.
