I did it

Recall last week I failed miserably at running Lake Washington.

Today I made it up, I ran it twice, a total of 14 miles in 2 hours 41 minutes 37 seconds, my overall pace was just a hair above 11 minutes and 30 seconds.  That would put my 1/2 marathon time at 2 hours 31 minutes which is slower than what I ran last year.

If you look at the first 7 miles of my run, which I completed in 1 hour 16 minutes 16 seconds, my pace was 10.89 minutes which would make my marathon time nearly 2 hours and 23 minutes.

I hit the 10.5 mile mark at 1:57:07, giving me a 11.15 minute pace, would have me finish at 2 hours 26 minutes which again is better then last year.

Its the last 3.5 miles that killed me, it took me 44 and 1/2 minutes to run.  That gives me 12.71 minute mile.  That won’t do.  I need to increase endurance.

Still great day, confidence booster, I can finish the 1/2 marathon.

Final note about my run, I never walked or stopped, of course I had to slow down on the turnaround points, but I am especially happy about not have to walk or stop.

As for my weigh in, can’t diminish the euphoria.
