I didn’t have to crossflash it but the HBA is functional. It is SAS 9300, got it on my bench.
After I finished I rebooted to CentOS7 and it looked fine.
Thinking of doing Rocky 9 as well.
Got the instruction and files to flash from https://github.com/EverLand1/9300-8i_IT-Mode
After creating the flash drive I boot to uefi mode and did these steps
# This erases the running flash/bios on the RAID controller.
sas3flash.efi -f SAS9300_8e_IT.bin -noreset
# Power Off
# Erases the card's NVRAM
sas3flash.efi -o -e 7 < Erase everything
sas3flash.efi -o -e 6 < keeps manufacturer stuff (this is preferred)
# and another
sas3flash.efi -f SAS9300_8e_IT.bin -b mptsas3.rom -b mpt3x64.rom
# Check if address still there
sas3flash.efi -list
# If not
sas3flash.efi -o -sasadd XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
