Posted this on another blog… worth repeating here.  I did hit gym today.

This Sunday Nov 27, 2011, I participated in the Seattle Half Marathon.  One word describes my experience… NASTY.

The conditions were tough, it was cold, wet, and a little windy.

The 1/2 marathon started at 7:30 AM and at that time it was still fairly dark.

The course itself was hilly, mile 7 to mile 11 was brutal, I felt all I did was run uphill.

This is a three days after Thanksgiving and two days after Black Friday.

Not many friends and relatives would come out to support you in this kind of weather.

I did poorly, barely beating the 3 hour mark.  I usually have something left in the tank where I can sprint for the finish line cameras… I had NOTHING… after my left foot which had my timing chip passed the finish line sensor, I stopped, and bent over hand on my knees.

If this was a test, my grade would have been a D-, barely passing.  This course was a bully and I got beat up.  I was Rocky against Clubber Lang (interesting that was Rocky 3 and this is my 3rd half marathon).

My body is still in pain, but my will is renewed.  I really want another shot at this course, this time I will not take it for granted.
