My Next Arduino Project

The hardware for my second arduino project is nearly doen (the first one was the blinking lights)

Arduino 2 Project

My Second Arduino Project

This arduino project is to show my status in the cubical.

Arduino 2 Front
Arduino 2 Front

Here is the front of my project, there is an LCD display that can show text and my status.

Three LEDs on the bottom, green, yellow, red show my status via color.

Arduino 2 Back
Arduino 2 Back

The back is where the connections are, noticed today the cables tend to tilt the box backwards, I need to add some weight to the front to balance out the assembly.

The USB ports are just to power USB devices, no data goes through, also they are powered by Vin so whatever device plugged in there will not be under powered.

The three 3.5mm ports can be used to for input output data ports (digital ports on the arduino).  The first one is normaly the IR receiver, I intend to use a motion sensor for the middle one, and a relat for the third one.

The three connections in the 3.5mm ports provide, 5v, signal, and ground.

The USB on the bottom is the actual arduino connection.  This project can run without connecting to a PC, it should be powered with a DC adapter on the bottom right at 7.5 volts.

Arduino 2 Inside
Inside view of my project

Here is the inside, I soldered some components to a PCB to make it easier to connect.

After I was done, I noticed there was quite a bid of space on the PCB, I think I could have shrunk everything on to a smaller case if there were an easier way to do the LCD and cables.

Now the hardware part is pretty much done, finally, now time to work on the software part and integration with Windows.

More on that later.

As for my workout, I hit the gym today, I recall used to be able to max out the weights on the bench machine, I did today as well, but usually I can do 4 sets of 10.
