3D Printed Rack

I am going to give the all 3d printed rack a go.

10 inch server rack by McBig | Download free STL model | Printables.com

Ordered some screws nuts and a two pairs of blanks to hold things together.

As I print these things I keep wondering where the parts go, how to they interlock.

I think I see where the author is going with stuff, but until I print more things, hard to say.

Had a good swim today, needed it pool kinda crowded today though. Maybe it will thin out when school starts back up.

Nice Day, Election Day

On my lunch break I walked 1 mile to drop off my ballot, I easily could have driven.

But it was a nice day. Got close to half my steps and had an easy time getting my steps, finished off in the evening.

Went to bed at 11PM last night, but was still tired most of the day. I think cause my dog kept me awake. Gonna try to sleep early again.

Weight back down under 340…. barely.

What Did I Do Today

Felt unproductive, did assist someone with a grafana and prometheus instance.

Looks like you can send data to prometheus with –web.enable-remote-write-receiver

Am tired though, just finished my swim. Thinking after this post going to shower, dinner and bed.

Weight is above 340 but not worried, I just had a bar b q yesterdau.

Mid Summer Bar B Que

It is the middle of summer, Blue Angels rocking our area and the Mid Season Bar B Que happened.

So to recap, there is normally a Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor day one. But added this one I think I am going to make it a tradition.

Also The 4th was actually Cajun Seafood.

We set up the hammock and I fell asleep outside again.

The zepbound does curb your appetite, I did not eat much.

I did get the XCA database set up in the lab. It works.

Also decommed a former important box, it was my primary nagios monitor at one point.

May have to get off Zepbound

Bummer, my insurance company is saying I am no longer covered by zepbound and I should switch. Such good progress too.

Late getting steps today though, as I post I have 9969 steps, 31 left. Everything else has been met.

I am willing to do the work, not sure why Insurance does not want to help me.

Anyway, what a day, got up late, took son downtown for work.

Blue Angels supposed to be flying, did not see anything, But was out of town half the day.

Got home late and pushed my remaining steps.

No Lab Work Today

Not intentional, but I stayed out to the lab today. I think the lab has been off the whole day. But the lab is pretty well off, also today is a Friday got all day tomorrow and Sunday.

Got up early did the normal finance friday thing then took my wife to the the Doctor, and Costco.

Was 2PM when I got home, rested a bit then hit the gym for a great swim.

Just finished swim and about to head out for a night of fun. Still need to shower, no time for lab stuff.

Weight is incredible though.

Status on Demo Network

I am going to call home assistant good in my demo network. It is done, I am ok where it is at. Just finished monitoring, specifically nagios as well.

Last thing is the Certificate Services and Securing. But with that, the lab can move forward. In fact on of the things I need to do is a video on setting up XCA, so I will do that.

Frustrating day on the fitness side, I am exactly at 340.0 as I post, all I have to do is change me shirt to something lighter and I will be under 340.0 I am going to hang in there for a bit though. Maybe in an hour I will lose natural weigh by breathing or bathroom.

So maybe for a video this weekend, I will do an XCA and Intro to Lab video.

Escape Room

Had an all day “meeting” for my team today. It is true we had some real administrative things to do for the first half of the day, but we all did lunch together at Red Robin in Tukwila.

I spoke to my coworker about being on zepbound, I thought I was on it since April, that is not true I was on it since late May, I weighed in that day at 348.4, 67 days ago. So I am clocking in about a 10lb loss.

I thought I was averaging 5lbs a month, and I am, just not since April.

But the fun thing we did after that was do an Escape Room. First time, I solved on of the puzzles in there but we did not escape in 70 minutes.

Afterwards we were told this was one of the tougher rooms. So we did OK.

When all was done did my swim. Felt pretty goood.

Exhausting Productive Rewarding Day

One of those days that finished was fulfilling, got a lot done and next thing you know it work was over. I checked my steps and I had less than a thousand. Here I am nearly 11PM and still need about 76 more steps.

After all that I was able to image all my physical computers (except my desktop) for a backup. I really feel like I can finish this lab off by this weekend and finally do some videos.

Nagios and Home Assistant are partially done and XCA and some sort of securing standards need to be done.

Gonna sign off now, actually shutdown the lab. It is hot temperature right now. Need as many things off as possible.

Revisit Linked Clones

Been exploring cloning in qemu/kvm and looked at cloning images. Building throw away VMs is fast now. Combine that with ansible and it is possible to spin up machines quickly.

Still need to get backups going right.

Kind of exhausted though, need more hours in the day. It is almost 11PM and I have not showered yet.

Still have too much stuff to do.
