Is the Lab Done?

Serious question I need to ask myself, I keep tweaking it but maybe I should call it done.

I did just go through a rebuild for the PODHOST today because I replaced the physical box, also upgraded KVMHOST with more RAM and faster storage (SSD vs HDD).

Then I did clone images for the LABCLIENTS and PRIME.

As I finished up took a look at perms and cloning on my old lab.

At some point I need to call the lab done.

Glad today was a rest day though. Looks like I did a lot, but I did sleep a lot.

Low Plans Week

Kind of nice to have a chill afternoon. Not that we did not have any plans. We got home late last night and still had to get up early to take dog to vet.

Afterwards we did our annual Renton River Days visit. No elephant ears, pretty sad on that one.

But still had a decent weigh in, I did come home late last night (which was technically today) and weighed in at 337.4. But did not need any crazy shenanigans’ to keep it under 340.

After RRD I got home with nearly 6000 steps, after a pre dinner walk to get to 10k my weight below is what I hit.

Last night did get my zepbound shot though.

Did get some home server stuff done, looking to get restores going.

Weight Reset

Kind of nice to crack 340 again resetting the clock… er scale.

So technically still under 340.

Was a weird day, I was so tired. Day not done but my workouts are.

Glad the weekend is here, going to Renton River Days Tomorrow after a vet visit.

Should have a slower day tomorrow and a relax day Sunday. Would have time to work on my lab.

Frustratingly Close

Weight is listed below, recall 3 days in a row keeps you at that weight class. Today is the second day.

Also no Zepbound, would have been nice to control my appetite, looks like I am going to write this one off as a week lost.

I did get another ThinkCentre M920q, I ordered some upgrades to it as well. In the end I will have an M900 for my infrastructure server, and M900 for plex and an M920Q for VM host and M920Q for a container host.

As for the lab, I want to call it good. Yes there are some upgrades, but functionality, I think I am ready to do those workshops.

Over the weekend I am going to go through DR maybe even a full rebuild.

Progress Progress

Didn’t sleep well but I am amazed what I got done today.

Weight still hanging in there between the 330’s and 340’s but it is holding.

Lab is nearly done, I think this weekend will be a lot of documentation.

But I really need sleep.

Lab Coming Along

Lab has a way to go, it is up and it works, but a lot of little things need to be done. The huge focus now is monitoring.

  • Nagios
  • Grafana
  • Prometheus
  • Node Exporter
  • InfluxDB
  • Telegraf

Then there is home assistant that needs to be cleaned up. It is running but on an volume that needs to be updated.

I did get keypass working, was intrigued by getting it to work with yubikey.

Monitoring is huge though.

Went to Farmer’s market for first time this year, I like it being on a street.

Almost done with my steps, as I post I have 40 more steps.

Another Round of Breathing Issues

Last night I did not sleep well, I was up late dealing with more breathing issues. Not only I, my dog too.

Maybe need to change the filter, maybe some thing in the air, the air monitor says there are no particulates. But there are VoC and the temperature is elevated.

I did get a good workout in, I think credit my long sleep yesterday.

Got some more services up in the lab. Pihole as a VM and pihole as a container, but need to fix the routing.

Weight back above 340 but I think it has to do with me having to eat a bit in the morning and prednisone wanting me to eat.

Non Tech Day

For the most part today was a low tech day. I did a few things, but my plans didn’t go as how I was thinking, wasn’t bad though.

Originally I was planning to get a chunk of my steps in the morning, but came across Renton Tech and they had a trash collection event.

A little backstory, the past few weeks, Republic Services, the company that picks up our trash had its staff go on strike. This left a lot of trash in people’s homes and my wife was concerned.

In my morning walk I came across a long line of cars waiting to go in to RTC to throw their trash in some collection event.

After my walk I was going to RePC then we were going to go North for some shrimp.

Found out the event was till noon and it was near 10AM. I told my wife I was scrapping the plan to go to RePC and instead, rebag the garbage (it was nasty) and drop it off.

Then we did our trip north.

One surprising thing is my weight. I am happy, officially under 340.

Things Going Better Today

I feel better today, got a lot done and had a great swim.

I am continuing to work my 10″ Rack project.

Got some fasteners for the cables in the back, they look ugly, looks like bird wings.

Anyway, it is working, better access.

For the lab itself, I redid all of the Windows 11 Labclients and created Clonezilla images. Hoping this will speed up rebuilds.

Two days in a row under 340, one more makes it official.
