Finally Chilling Out

Today I rested a bit too much.

I had a long week, and got a lot done, but I started my steps too late. I should have done a batch in the morning to make it easier in the evening.

Got it done though.

Hoping by Monday I will have all onside VMs upgraded to Rocky 9.

Security Presentation Done

Forgot how I like doing presentations, a bit rusty but people said I did great.

What a busy day though, just kept going like there was no end.

But at 7PM all my stuff was done, I get to relax a bit.

Working on upgrading my last local CentOS 7 VM, next thing is physical boxes then Cloud stuff.

Too Many Meetings

I feel like I can’t get enough stuff done because I been in so many meetings.

Tomorrow I have a presentation on home security, kind of stressed because of it.

I did oversleep this morning, so the meetings were nothing.

Good news is weight finally going down.

End Of Summer 2023

It was cold in the morning and dark at night when I went to walk.

I did get my steps done though, I thought I was going to walk at work, but there wasn’t much distance to walk.

At work I had some class on safety, saw many people I have not seen for a while, it was nice.

One Step In Front of the Other

Second day making 10,000 steps and 10 floors.

Slowly but curely.

Going to spend the rest of the month trying to get 10k steps and 10 floors each day. In October I will start tracking food.

Kind of beat, but I think cause of the walking, so I should sleep well.

First Post On New Server

Moved mostly everything to new server. This is my first post from that server. I can actually shut off the old web server and I should be functional.

Just 1 more CentOS 7 VM then I move to physical and cloud servers.

First real game for the Seahawks, they suck lost 13 to 30 against the RAMS.

But I did get my steps in pretty early, so it is all good.

Website Back To Normal

Mental note to self, don’t make changes close to midnight if you didn’t post your blog.

Although I got it done and was able to post before midnight, there was a lot of meat missing from my post.

Actually rebuild the web server and the main drupal sight is on the new Rocky 9 server. It is behind a new nginx proxy as well to slowly move stuff (child sites) to the new server.

Since I am just retiring the server and not doing a real upgrade, some things will be lost.

The big challenge was getting the proxy right, it kind of works.

If I can upgrade my site to drupal 10 I will keep the main site on drupal.

Something Went Amiss

Not sure what I screwed up, but I changed my WordPress setting to a temp site.

So doing a really quick post. Cause it is almost midnight.

Stuff is complex.

Thought wordpress would be easy, well is is easy to screw up.

Networked Out

Kind of worn out with my personal network. Did not do much with it, was at doctor’s in the morning but was tired after my first meeting.

After hanging in there at work, I needed a break and took a nap.

One of those days just needed something different, this time some rest.

New Habits

Need to adopt so new habits,

First one, if something is down on the network and is needed, but some sort of monitor that alerts on it, normally nagios, but it can be something else like home assistant.

Second one, if you did something cool, document it, maybe something as recording history to a date stamped file.

Finally, when doing something new to a server, see if ansible will do it for you.

Youngest child today ran the last Cross country two mile of my kids. Kind of sad. Good news is that was a FR (family record) for a cross country mile.

He was mildly disappointed he was not the #1 senior, but he was really close to the #1.
