Mental Endurance Day

After I post here I am going to do some pushups and situps.  But today was absolutely not a slouch of a day, recall we planned to go to Canada and back in one day.

For one thing I had to contend with TWO failed printers at home, so I was up last night trying to get a printout of the alternate route to Canada.

After I finally got it printed I took care of some other pretrip things and finally went to bed at 3AM, slept for 2 hours and then headed up to Canada.

We left at 5:15 and we got there at about 9:30.  I took a nap in Canada, then we left our relatives home at about 12:30PM ran some errands on the way and was home at 5:10PM, barely made it under 1/2 a day.

With less than 5 hours of sleep (none of it quality sleep), I needed a boost, so I drank a frappe from Tim Horton’s and also had a 5 hour energy drink.  I was amazed it helped.

But less than 3 miles to home I was getting sleepy.  I did drive the entire time but I was certainly beat.

Once we got home and unloaded I tried to rest but felt like I had to deal with the printers.  So I went to Goodwill and found a used printer for $10 and got it working by replacing one of the ink cartridges.

I am beat no doubt, but it really helped that people avoided driving to Canada.  The alternate route was different, I think it added 60 minutes overall to the trip.
